The irony is delicious, Christians have become the Nouveau Jews waiting for the 2nd coming because the 1st was anti-climactic. Still waiting to be tickled or tackled at the G-spot.

John Chapter Two from the New Testament is all I need to respond to your plaintive piece:

Title: Jesus Clears the Nouveau Temple Courts

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts, he found people selling consumer goods for sacrifice & others sitting at tables trading money or bitcoins. So he made a whip out of cords & drove all beasts great & small from the Holy Courts, both sacrificial animals; he scattered the currencies of accountants & overturned their tables & spreadsheets.

To those who sold the rarest sacrifices, he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a Shanghai SE or Wall Street!”

His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

The Jews or the Nouveau Jews or Evangelicals then responded to Him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”
.
Jesus answered them, “Destroy the Church of Christ, rape the Body of the Son of Man, divide it further during the First Council of Nicaea, the Reformation, or the invention of Indulgences, I will raise it again in 3 days.”

Cluelessly, they replied, “It has taken 46 years to build this temple & you are going to raise it in 3 days?”

But the Temple or Chruch he had spoken of was his body, not the human body.

But even after 1987 years after Christ’s death, our divisive race of Cain have NOT understood or embraced the Good News. The Christ-lovers have become Christ-Nailers using Christ as a propaganda machine even before his Holy Spirit was laid to rest in the heavens.

Do not despair, Joe. If you study history, Christians began quarreling days after he rose to heaven, not millennia after. This division you are facing is simply the umpteenth iteration spanning 2020 years of continual fractures.

Now we are in the death lurches and gurglings of a dying Church. Whether you choose to stay in that infested pool or walk among the stars alone like Jesus in the desert with his friend & nemesis, is up to you. That is Christ’s gift to choose your own path unlike Judaism overburdened with rules & regulations like iTunes.

Don't worry, the Good News is alive & well & ever-fresh every pure ever far from the maddening crowd on Medium or in Red or Blue States of dis-United States of America or anywhere on this divided planet.

And, if it all goes to Hell, you can choose to also be nailed to the cross with Jesus and the thieves far above the Nouveau Christians waiting for an Easter Egg surprise.
